The currency of Estonia is the Estonian Kroon, with one Kroon equalling 100 Sents. Notes come in denominations of ekr500, 100, 50, 25, 10, 5, 2 and 1, with coins coming in denominations of ekr5 and 1, and 50, 20, 10 and 5 Sents. Currency can be exchanged at banks and bureau de changes, and the value of the Kroon has been pegged to the Euro, thus guaranteeing that it retains value. Traveller’s cheques are accepted in banks in most larger towns, though to avoid possible additional conversion charges the cheques should be in US Dollars, Pounds Sterling or Euros. There are a number of ATMs in most towns, and most major credit and debit cards are widely accepted.
